I liked this class because it was fun and it had a lot of freedom. We also learned some cool things that I didn't know before. I disliked some of the photoshop assignments but they were necessary to what we learned so it was cool.
I especially liked the photo assignments because we got to take photos under a certain subject and that was cool.
What I learned:
I learned how to use photoshop and use the certain tools in it, how to set up a studio lighting situation, and how to use all the elements of composition to make the photo better.
My best/favorite photos are:

In this assignment I took pictures of still life. My best photo is of a die on a backgammon board. It's visually interesting because it has bright colors and shows lines. I made it brighter in photoshop and cropped out the shadow and fuzzy part.
ISO: 800
f/stop: 2.8
shutter speed: 1/15
I this assignment I found it difficult to take interesting pictures of still life because the lighting wasn't that good and things that I thought would look good, didn't always turn out that good. I ended up taking a lot of photos in order to get some good ones.

Photo 6: Black&white
This week I did black and white for my photos. I took some of my photos that I had already taken that I though would look cool in black and white. My best photo is a picture of a frog water fountain. It has character and interesting lines and displays the rule of thirds.
f stop: f/4
shutter speed: 1/80
ISO: 100
In this assignment I learned which photos looked better in b&w and which photos looked better in color. I also learned how to change it in photoshop and which adjustments looked best.

Dictionary
These are my dictionary photos. I choose the words ailurophilia and ostentatious. Ailurophilia means love of cats so I put picture of cute cats everywhere and cat paws. Ostentatious was my second word and it means showy and pretentious so I put a rich guy in a garage full of nice cars.
In this assignment I combined photos to get across a theme.

Photo 5: people
For this assignment I toke pictures of people. My best photo is a picture of my mom looking pensive because we were on a college visit. I cropped it to make it square and changed the contrast and brightness so it didn't seem to faded.
I learned that capturing the expression or certain look that you're looking for is difficult and takes some time. I think I was able to capture a pretty cool picture though. I think photoshop really helped the picture in this case.

School Photo
This is the before and after pictures of a photo that I altered. I added pictures of Jaws, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, and other things to make a surreal thing look real and that it took place at our school. I also added a shadow to Usain Bolt using photoshop.

Photo 4- Nature
In this assignment I did nature and i went on a hike in Hudson Mills park last weekend which is where my best photo was taken and this weekend I went on a hike in this field which is where most of my slideshow pictures were taken.
After:
f/stop: 2.8
shutter speed: 1/400
ISO: 160
In this assignment I learned some interesting ways to capture nature. It was more challenging then I thought just because most of my picture that I thought would look really cool, actually looked pretty boring.

Portrait
In this assignment we toke portrait in two different settings: studio and with natural light. In this first picture is Libby and this was taken in a studio setup. The second picture is of Vivian and it was taken next to a window with a bounce card. I learned in this assignment how to take good pictures and setup the correct lighting.

Assignment 3: Architecture
This week I did architecture because I was going to Indiana to Ball State for a college visit and colleges always have beautiful architecture.
This photo is of a radial string design that was hung in front of a window with a building and trees in the background.
In this assignment I learned different ways to capture cool architecture. I had to adjust the settings because it was an overcast day out and I photoshopped my picture a little bit because of it. I want to go into architecture as my field in college so this is something I'm really interested in.

Panoramic
In this assignment we learned how to take panoramic photos with a tripod. We took four photos of the same scene overlapping the pictures by 1/3 and using photoshop to merge them together. This was really cool because I always wondered how people did this and I think panoramic photos are really cool pictures!

Car Retouch
In this assignment we retouched the photo of a car so it looked like an example provided. We used different tools like the clone stamp, the selection tool, levels adjustment, and the crop tool. The first picture is the finished product and the second one is the original.

Photo 1 slideshow
In this assignment I learned some good ways to photograph food and how to apply the rules of composition to the photos. I tried to find the most interesting foods to take pictures of and use some setup so that the photos look as appetizing and interesting as possible.

Photo 1: food
This is my best photo for the food category. For this assignment I brought the camera to work and I toke several shots of my coworker handing out this cone as if I were a costumer. The composition elements I used were definitely color, and framing of the window. It has a shutter speed of 1/60, an aperture of f 2.8 and ISO of 250.
Popart
In this assignment we explored photoshop and inserted a picture of ourselves, cropped it,copied it, and changed the color of each.
I learned in this assignment how to use photoshop and some of the different tools like the crop tool and the hue saturation among other things. This will be very useful when we edit our best photos.

Inspiration photo 1
For the first photo assignment I was going to my use food as my subject. I work at dairy queen so it would be easy to get some cool pictures of ice cream.
My idea for a good picture would be an ice cream cone or banana split or something pretty being handed out by one of my coworker's and then i would make the background not stand out as much so that the ice cream is in focus.

composition 2
In this assignment we took pictures of 5 elements of composition: perspective, color, balance, space, framing.
perspective: bricks on sidewalk
color:pink flowers against brick
balance:tree, pond, hill, and sun
space:football player and his shadow
framing:elevator doors framing Ellie
In this assignment I learned about these 5 elements of composition to further enhance the pictures that I take. I learned that perspective helps draw the eye to the subject of the picture. I learned that colors impact mood; bright colors add vibrancy and energy, cool colors have a soothing impact. Balance is the right balance of points of interests so the picture doesn't seem heavy or empty. Space deals with filling the frame with interesting things and lastly, framing gives the image depth and helps give perspective to the viewers.

Shutter Speed and Aperature
In this assignment I learned about shutter speed and aperture and that the key to any picture is light. The shutter is the mechanism that lets light through the lens and it controls the duration of time in which the picture is captured. Shutter Speed is expressed in seconds or fractions of a second. A faster shutter speed like 1/1000 produces stop-action shots while a slow shutter speed (2 seconds) produces blurry shots. Aperature is like the pupil of your eye because by closing it, it restricts light and by opening it, it allows more light in. This is measured in F-stops and a large aperture is expressed by a small F-stop number (2.8) and has a small depth of field and a fast shutter speed. A small aperture is expressed by a large F-stop (22) and has a large depth of field and a slow shutter speed.

Composition 1
In this assignment we took photos of six elements of composition: symmetry, rule of thirds, pattern, depth of field, lines, and texture.
Symmetry: Fire hydrant
Rule of thirds: Hanging running spikes
Pattern: Track
Depth of Field: Flower
Lines: Wood overhang
Texture: Tree
I learned in this assignment how to make photos more interesting and about composition elements that are good to use when I'm planning out a shot. These six elements add interest and draw the viewers eye to the subject that you're capturing.
